Host your course with us
Nestled against the famous city of Richelieu in the heart of the Loire Valley, Le Grippault is a charming 19th-century manor surrounded by 21 hectares of lush forest and grassland. If you’re looking for an easily accessible rural location with all services within easy reach, Le Grippault is the perfect spot for your course or event. Our manor can host 8 to 15 persons, with eight renovated double bedrooms with attached bathrooms. The salon and salle à manger with adjacent renovated kitchen are at your disposal. A third large multifunctional space is perfect for meetings or exhibitions.
On our grounds, we have a permaculture garden that provides our visitors with fresh vegetables, herbs, and berries. As seasoned course and event creators with a large local and international network, we can also help you design (elements of) your residential course at Le Grippault. If you’re looking for a course location full of personality and charm, with plenty of nature around to study, work, and relax, we’d love to discuss the possibilities with you.

(Dutch spoken)

Sketching and Watercolouring in Nature
This workshop by naturalist and illustrator-writer Alan Johnston invites you to deepen your looking at nature, through sketching in nature. You’ll learn to observe a landscape—or a small piece of nature—and translate it into sketches on paper. These sketches could serve as a basis for small watercolour paintings. We will work at Le Grippault and will go on day-trips in the region. (English and French spoken)

Literary Theatre Workshop PROUST
Join Le Grippaults three-dimensional book club by Maria Kraakman, Vincent van der Valk and Jeroen De Man Bergen. We read, discuss, and collaboratively create short scenes. After last years edition centered around Lauren Groff’s Matrix, this July we’ll dive into the first volume of Proust’s In Search of Lost Time: Swann’s Way. This workshop is the perfect motivation to finally sit down and read this French classic. With its characters portrayed with elegance and humour, and beautiful descriptions of French countrylife, Proust’s work lends itself wonderfully to theatre. Dutch spoken.
